Pacers President Jim Morris gave the address at the IWU summer commencement exercises of 2014 on August 9, 2014 at 10 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the IWU Chapel Auditorium.
Morris is in his sixth year with Pacers Sports and Entertainment and his fifth as the franchises president. Before joining PS&E, Morris was the executive director for five years for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) where he led the world's largest humanitarian agency. He also served as the Secretary General's Special Envoy for the humanitarian crisis in southern Africa during those same years.
During the commencement exercises on Saturday 1,271 degrees were conferred. At the 10 a.m. ceremony, at the conclusion of Mr. Morris remarks, a special surprise appearance was made by the Pacer's Mascot, Boomer.
Indiana Wesleyan University is an evangelical Christian comprehensive university of The Wesleyan Church. The University, founded in 1920, is committed to global liberal arts and professional education.
More than 3,000 students are enrolled in traditional programs on the University's main campus in Marion, Indiana. Nearly 12,500 adult learners attend classes at education centers in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, and online.
