Indiana Wesleyan University is hosting a Jump Start workshop for the 21st Century Scholars program on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Barnes Student Center on the main Marion campus.
The 21st Century Scholars Program has developed a series of regionally-based workshops to help current 21st Century Scholar juniors get a 'Jump Start' on their senior year of high school.
Held on 38 local college campuses, each workshop will provide Scholars with essential information about the 21st Century Scholarship along with tips and resources to help them 'Jump Start' their path toward college and career success. Junior Scholars (class of 2015) and their parents or guardians are strongly encouraged to attend a workshop in their area. The IWU workshop includes a campus tour. The admissions office will be on hand to answer questions.
"We want all 21st Century Scholars across Indiana to have the opportunity to visit a college campus, connect with other Scholars, and get a jump start on their path to college completion before they graduate from high school," said Chris Enstrom, director of 21st Century Scholars Outreach. "These workshops will help junior Scholars prepare for the transition to college and make sure they're on track to meet their Scholarship and college admissions requirements."
Jump Start workshop topics include:
- Meeting Senior 21st Century Scholar Program Requirements
- Completing College Applications
- Maintaining Scholarship Eligibility in College
- Understanding Financial Aid
- Earning Dual Credit and AP Courses
