Indiana Wesleyan University presented a posthumous associate degree to Nicholas Dietrich, an IWU student who died in a single-car accident near McClure, Ohio on August 25, 2011.
IWU Provost David Wright announced the conferral of the degree during the spring 2013 commencement ceremonies on April 27, 2013. Dietrich would have graduated on Saturday morning. His brother Corey accepted the degree on his behalf.
"Nick Dietrich was a young man who embodied IWU's mission," said Dr. Keith Newman, Executive Vice President. "He studied psychology during his time here and he believed that God would use him to help others. As the class of 2013 takes their leave, we trust Nick's legacy inspires them to become world changers in their chosen careers."
