Dr. Todd Voss will return to Indiana Wesleyan University to speak at three graduations on Saturday. Voss was an IWU vice president for 22 years before becoming president of Southern Wesleyan University in July 2011.
Indiana Wesleyan and Southern Wesleyan are sister universities of The Wesleyan Church.
About 2,050 students will be eligible to receive degrees on Saturday. Almost 600 of the spring graduates earned degrees through traditional clases on IWU's residential campus in Marion. The other graduates took classes either online or at IWU education centers and other sites in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.
The Saturday graduations will be at:
- 10:00 a.m. for College of Arts and Sciences students who will receive associate and bachelor degrees; and for pre-licensure nursing students who will receive bachelor degrees.
- 2:30 p.m. for Adult and Professional Studies students who will receive associate and bachelor degrees.
- 6:00 p.m. for students receiving master and doctoral degrees; and for post-licensure nursing students who will receive bachelor degrees.
There will be receptions in the Student Center for graduates and family members after the 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. graduations.
Tickets are required fro admission to the Chapel Auditorium, but there will be overflow seating in Phillippe Performing Arts Center. Tickets are not required for seating in Phillippe.
Rev. Kevin Myers, a 1982 IWU graduate, will speak at a baccalaureate service at 6:00 p.m. Friday. He is the pastor of 12Stone Church, near Atlanta, Georgia, which is the largest congregation in The Wesleyan Church.
Myers is a member fo the IWU Board of Trustees and also serves on the board of Wesley Seminary at IWU.
