Indiana Wesleyan University is proud to partner with the Conn-Selmer Division of Education to welcome Tim Lautzenheiser, Richard Saucedo and Randy Greenwell to campus for a one-day clinic to work with the Marching Wildcats.
“I am so excited for our students to have the opportunity to learn from three of the best music educators in America,” says Briana Blankenship, IWU Director of Athletic Bands. “This will be something our students will remember for a lifetime.”
Lautzenheiser, Saucedo and Greenwell are three of the most sought-after guest clinicians and music educators in the Nation.
“The wealth of knowledge and expertise that Tim Lautzenheiser, Richard Saucedo, and Randy Greenwell bring to the table is immeasurable,” says Blankenship. “Their support of the Marching Wildcats, especially during our inaugural year, will leave a long-lasting impact that will help this organization to continue to thrive for years to come. I cannot wait to welcome them to Indiana Wesleyan University.”
The Conn-Selmer Educational Clinicians are a team of master educators and world-class artists. Lautzenheiser, Saucedo and Greenwell will work with the IWU marching band students to advance their program.
“I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with these incredible individuals in the music world,” says senior Music Education major Taylor Sprinkle. “I’ve been to many clinics in my years and I’ve never been so excited to hear from these clinicians. They have been incredible influences in the band world.”
Indiana Wesleyan University’s marching band debuted for the first time in August 2021. The band performs at all home football games during pregame and halftime, with possible additional appearances at parades, high schools and other venues.
The addition of a marching band program adds a dimension to the Music Education curriculum that will help prepare future teachers in the marching arts. For more information on IWU’s Division of Music, visit www.indwes.edu/undergraduate/division-of-music/.
“If you are looking for a community that feels like a family, join the Marching Wildcats,” encourages Sprinkle. “If you were involved in any music ensembles in high school or have had any desire to do so, it’s never too late! We have members who have never touched an instrument and yet they are flourishing so take that step and joint next fall!”
