In honor of Constitution Day, which will be observed on Tuesday, Sept. 17, there will be 10-15 booklets, The U.S. Constitution and Fascinating Facts About It, located around the IWU campus, including the Barnes Student Center. Students who find these booklets not only get to take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, but also may find something unexpected inside.
Constitution Day is a federal holiday that falls on Sept. 17 every year in recognition of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. Sept. 17 is the day in 1787 that 39 delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the U.S. Constitution.
Students interested in learning more about the Constitution are encouraged to listen to a pre-recorded constitutional lecture given by Dr. Jon Conrad, professor of Political Science at IWU, or read one of the constitutional debates.
