Indiana Wesleyan University will host approximately 1,200 middle school students and their sponsors on May 3-4 for its 25th annual Never2Young event, which began in 1995. Attendees hail from 78 churches across several different states.
The annual event is designed to prepare and challenge middle school students to make an impact for Christ in their schools, churches and homes. A team of approximately 100 IWU volunteers will help manage the weekend, which will include worship led by Sing Love, a worship group hailing from Northview Church in Indianapolis; sessions with speaker Johnathan Baldwin, the middle school pastor at 12Stone Church in Atlanta; and many additional recreational activities. Students and sponsors will stay overnight in residence halls on campus.
“When most people think about 1,200 middle school students for a weekend event, they think about a lot of pizza and non-stop activity,” said Charlie Alcock, director of youth ministry events. “But, before the pizza and all the activity, we see 1,200 middle school students worshiping Jesus with all their heart, mind, and soul and responding to His word. Yes, we have the pizza and activities, but our priority is worshiping Jesus and presenting His truth to this amazing part of the body of Christ.”
Never2Young follows one month after IWU’s Fusion conference, an annual high school youth conference that had nearly 1,000 high school students and their adult sponsors in attendance.
