Indiana Wesleyan University’s Division of Music is excited to announce its Christmas Extravaganza, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 in the Phillippe Performing Arts Center on the IWU-Marion campus.
The concert promises to be a festive evening of joy, celebration and classics. Approximately 200 IWU students will be on stage throughout the concert, representing all of the Division of Music ensembles including:
- IWU Chorale
- Wind Ensemble
- Orchestra
- University Singers
- Women’s Chorus
- Early Music Ensemble
- Percussion Ensemble
- Indiana Youth Chorale
The audience will hear favorite songs like “White Christmas” and “Merry Christmas Darling,” and be invited to sing along on timeless tunes such as “Joy to the World,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” and “Silent Night.”
“There is no better way to celebrate the truest reason for the season – Jesus Christ – than through music!” said Davy Chinn, director of the IWU Chorale and community arts coordinator. “I love seeing our whole division come together to put on a massive concert like this. It shows the collaborative spirit that drives us and, more importantly, points to the reason why we all make music: to praise and glorify our Savior!”
The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $10 each. To purchase tickets, visit www.indwes.edu/events/onstage/events.
