Indiana Wesleyan University will host Campus Challenge, a national arts competition for Wesleyan teens, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 28 in the Phillippe Performing Arts Center. Participants will compete in the categories of art, music or drama with the opportunity to win scholarship money for college.
Campus Challenge is a program sponsored by Wesleyan Higher Education and Education and Clergy Development to help students discover and develop their God-given talents to honor God in a life of service to Him. To qualify, students must regularly attend a Wesleyan church or youth group and be between the ages of 12 and 19.
According to the Campus Challenge website, over 70 percent of the competition entries earn scholarships averaging over $600, yet students have the opportunity to earn over $3,000. Scholarships can be earned in a variety of categories, including the following:
- Vocal Performance
- Keyboard
- Instrumental
- Performing Arts
- Literature Composition
- Art
- Speech
Scholarships earned through Campus Challenge can be used at any of the following Wesleyan colleges: Houghton College, Indiana Wesleyan University, Kingswood University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University and Southern Wesleyan University.
