“As a longtime member of the Fort Wayne community, Indiana Wesleyan University is excited about this opportunity to bring people together to share stories and lessons that will help promote leadership throughout northeastern Indiana,” said Matt Lucas, D.A., chancellor of IWU-National & Global. “As leaders in adult education, Indiana Wesleyan University is committed to developing leadership so that our students and others in the Fort Wayne area can go out and change the world.”
The seeds for Engage 2018 were planted when Lucas challenged IWU National & Global faculty and staff to think outside the box. Terri Emrick, an academic advisor in the department of student services at IWU’s education center in Fort Wayne, pitched an idea for this event directly to Lucas.
Emerick hopes the summit will become an annual event. “The community is excited about all of the opportunities this event will offer to them,” she said, “I hope that in the future, we will be able to draw more and more presenters and to continue to capitalize on the strong, forward-thinking business community in Fort Wayne.”
