Senior students from Indiana Wesleyan University’s Division of Art + Design will host their two-night senior show from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 on the downtown square in Marion.
The show, titled “25”, is an exhibition of 25 IWU Art + Design seniors’ work encompassing various ideas through photography, design, ceramics and illustration. Below are comments from a few of the exhibiting artists:
- "I am exploring the idea of childhood and play as it relates to adulthood. I'm questioning why we have lost the freedom and joy we experienced as kids as we get stuck in our adult ways. Children seem to know something we used to know but chose to forget. How can kids help us return to this freedom?" – Madi Fox, Graphic Design and Photography major
- "My project is exploring how interior design elements can make a person feel confident participating in creative activities. I am designing a space that helps to eliminate factors of intimidation, so people can use their creativity with confidence.” – Rachel Johns, Interior Design major
- “At its core, [my show] poses a question about what it means to live a good life. What is it that makes our life? Is it the places we go, or the journey of life itself?” – Isaac Hans, Photography major
- “My topic explores what sustainable packaging could look like for IWU’s Wildcat cafeteria in the near future. I aim to highlight the large waste issue that Wildcat currently presents and hope to inspire remaining students to support a change.” – Claire Toon, Graphic Design and Illustration major
The show is free and open to the public. It is located at 141 E Street, Marion, IN 46952.
