Indiana Wesleyan University will host the second annual Experience Indiana event, which is aimed at celebrating Indiana opportunities in business, employment, the arts and recreational sites. Experience Indiana is part of a grant initiative funded by the Lilly Endowment that will bring together vendors, employers and students in an environment providing networking and business training practices.
The event will take place on March 15-16 in the Barnes Student Center on IWU’s residential campus in Marion, Indiana. Space for booths, displays, interviewing spaces and performances will be made available to businesses interested in partaking in Experience Indiana.
“This event gives an opportunity for artists, bakers, musicians, and employers to meet our students on our turf and introduce them to Indiana-made products and talents,” said Carol Brown, associate dean of life calling and career development. “The Lilly Endowment has chosen to invest in retaining Indiana graduates, and our event helps showcase some really fun opportunities available in the Hoosier state.”
“Employ Indiana” is the theme of Wednesday, March 15 and will feature the EXIN Job Fair. Employers or company representatives are invited to attend to interview, recruit or simply share career advice.
“Celebrate Indiana” is the focus of Thursday, March 16 and will celebrate the various talents Indiana has to offer. The community is invited to join in this exhibition and promote Indiana-made opportunities. The day will feature live music, food, vendors, free giveaways and prizes.
All events are free of charge and will take place 1 p.m.-4 p.m. To register a business or to see the full schedule, visit experienceindiana.squarespace.com.
