Indiana Wesleyan University senior Nicole Schneider has been named a 2017 Orr Fellow. The Orr Entrepreneurial Fellowship is a program that selects top seniors from institutions in Indiana and Ohio for a two-year fellowship and career placement at a variety of growing companies in Indianapolis. With over 1,000 applicants every year, the fellowship is a highly competitive post-grad experience with an average acceptance rate of only 6 percent.
Schneider, a Marketing and Business Administration major, will be employed at Indianapolis-based Lessonly for two years following her graduation this spring. She will be working in Customer Success aiding customers in implementing the company's learning automation software. In addition to her full-time job, Schneider will be participating in the Orr Fellowship curriculum, networking with the local business community and developing her skills as a professional.
"I am looking forward to having a dynamic start to my career and getting to know the other [Orr] fellows as well as the opportunity to be a part of their community in Indianapolis," said Schneider, a Fort Wayne native. "The Orr Fellowship is such a wonderful opportunity to take a good first step out of college and into your future career, and I am excited to be a part of it."
In addition to Schneider, IWU has seen eight other alumni accepted into the Orr Fellowship: Jake Smith '15 at SupplyKick, Dylan Bronkema '15 at Roche, and Kenny Hall '15 at KAR Auction Services, Jordan Easley '13 at TinderBox, Mitch Causey '11 at DigitalRelevance, Corey Kime '10 at Compendium, Amber Mohling '09 at Compendium and Teresa Becker '09 at ExactTarget.
"DeVoe Division of Business is extremely proud of Nicole by garnering this coveted Orr Fellowship," said Dr. Harriet Rojas, chair, DeVoe Division of Business. "We are certain that she will be both an asset to the company while she learns from some of the best entrepreneurial individuals and businesses in the state of Indiana."
